AMBE codec

Post by bermine »

I see the AMBE controller option in DSD, but how we can add the codec itself? are there any free or paid soft codec which can be attached or usb dongle based hw is required?

readme says: " you need to have mbelib installed in your system"
where can I download and install a windows version of mblelib?

it seems to be the AMBLE lib and soft codec is built in in my installed version,
I see the decoded voice content in slot2 (S2: VOX) and green sound icon,
however no voice in the speaker, some fragmented noise only
any suggestions? (no encrypted voice, it is a free ham radio base station downlink)

mbelib is included with the Windows build.
If you want to use a h/w dongle, which has slightly better sound quality, you can use something like: https://www.dvmega.nl/dvstick30/ and then use the AMBE feature - this isn't required though.
There was some discussion on the mailing list in the last two weeks about SDR settings for DV, so have a read of that, particularly with regard to not having the demod centred at DC: https://groups.io/g/sdrangel - but it's not possible to see that in your picture, as you are using a File.

ok thank you, finally I come to that conclusion that mbelib.dll is there in the windows build, and it should work,
but I do not understand why I have no sound output from the recorded IQ file I try to decode,

in the github repo I found only one short sample file (dsd.2021-12-02T16_44_54_046.wav) and it seems work correct, however it YSF format and I like to decode recorded in DMR format
are you aware of any sample files for other format than this YSF? like DMR and NXD etc.
